Child Care Courses in Melbourne

There has never been a better time to work in Early Years and Childcare as it is one of the fastest growing industries and there is an increasing demand for staff on all levels. So why not start with enrolling in a Child Care Course in Melbourne?

In my opinion working as a nanny, babysitter or child carer is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world!  But you have to be passionate about it and love it with all your heart – otherwise the reality of long hours, little money in some cases and smelly nappies will hit you very soon.

But if you have passion, enthusiasm, and of course love working with children, this could be the career for you!

There are plenty of opportunities to gain training and qualifications, whether part time, full time, at a college or online from home.

It can be a little bit tricky to find all the appropriate information, so here is a short list of the most common child care courses in Melbourne available and where to find them:

Certificate III in Children’s Services

This course is designed to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for the provision of care and education of infants and young children 0 - 6 years in long day care, occasional child care or kindergartens.

Child Friendly Cafe Melbourne

Image by Family Life Home & Cafe

I have been working as a babysitter in Melbourne for years and am always on the lookout for new things to do with the bubs. The playground isn’t an option on most days with a crawling toddler in winter and the general cafe out there isn’t set up to cater for an impatient 1 year old, who doesn’t want to sit still until her nanny finishes her deserved cup of coffee.

To stop us all from getting cabin fever at home, I usually put my little girl in the pram and wonder down the road to the Family Life Home & Cafe in Prahran.

The stunning venue boasts a café, play space and events that seamlessly integrate.  You can get good coffee, fresh fruit salads, great soups, pies, cupcakes and much more.

The best part is the play space for the kids! There is a large fake grass area with lots of toys and room to move around. They even have a small ‘racing track’!

So while you sit back and enjoy your coffee your bubs can safely crawl around, meet new friends and explore. There are always other babysitters and lots of families around so it is a hub to socialise and network as well.

Speed Babysitting is holding events at the Family Life Cafe once a month.  So if you are trying to find a babysitter in Melbourne come along and find the perfect babysitter for your family whilst enjoying the ambience of this special cafe. For more details go to our website www.speedbabysitting.com.au.

Find A Babysitter Melbourne

 Image ©Speed Babysitting

It can be tough to find and then keep a good babysitter in Melbourne. You may have used the girl up the road, who's social life now takes precedence over her babysitting work! You may find a babysitter through another family, but find that she/he is never available on the nights that you need them.

If you find yourself in this position, Speed Babysitting can help you. At any of our regular Speed Babysitting events we will introduce you to multiple qualified babysitters in a safe and relaxed environment. We have upcoming events at St Kilda, Northcote and Prahran. The details of all our Speed Babysitting nights can be found listed on the events page of our website.

On the night you will be able to interview several babysitters in one spot at one time, face to face, and find the right babysitter for your family. But the best part is that you get to take home with you a Speed Babysitting Resume Booklet which will contain all the details of the babysitters you met that evening. So if you need to head out at short notice you will have a pool of babysitters to draw from to look after you little ones.

To find out further details on how the Speed Babysitting service works or to book into an event head to our parents page.
